Since the three major parks were so crowded during this Spring Break visit, I spent most of my days at either
Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach (which I would have visited each day, anyway). Blizzard Beach
is home to another of my top four favorite Disneyworld attractions.... Runoff Rapids - which consists of
three chutes, one of which is completely enclosed (like a pipe) - all of which have lots of twists and drops, etc.
You ride down in a single, double or triple inflatable tube (depending on the number of people in your party). The trip down is fast and turbulent - and lots of fun!
BTW, for all of you who absolutely MUST know, there are 127 steps leading up to the loading area at the top of the
mountain. In my apartment building, there are 14 steps to each floor. That means the loading zone for Runoff Rapids
is the equivalent of 9 floors up!
A more relaxing attraction (and another of my favorites) is Cross Country Creek, which is a river of sorts, which completely encircles the
park. Folks float around this river in inflatable tubes or on rafts and need to deal with other riders crashing
into them, rapids, and ice cold water from waterfalls and a 'snow making' machine.
