Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights

This attraction at the Disney-MGM Studios is billed as the display that was "too big for the town of Little Rock, Arkansas." It really was spectacular - All of the houses and trees along Residential Street were decked out in colorful, moving lights and I don't think I've ever seen anything like it.

The evening I attended happened to be the same evening a local TV crew was there to televise the event for the local Orlando audience - so, I'm not sure if this was the normal opening ceremony. But, a very formal-looking Mickey was there to welcome us all.

My only complaint was the timing... the park closed at 7pm each night, but the display didn't open 'til about 6:15pm because it was not really dark enough before then. Consequently, there was a tremendous people-jam with everyone trying to take advantage of that 45 minute window.

Once inside, it was wall-to-wall lights, with house after house, on both sides of the street, fully illuminated. The Golden Girls' House was the only one I saw that had some Hanukkah icons among the Christmas decorations. There was a Star of David in one window and a Menorah in another window.

Towards the end of the street, there was a long canopy of lights, that covered the street. And, of course, if wouldn't be a Disney display without Mickey Mouse.
